DBP NEWS :: 1.24.2012

Happy 2012 - a little belated, but it is still January... barely. For a slow month this one has flown by. It’s been a month of shooting interior spaces - a couple houses that are on the market, a new Bed and Breakfast and Event Venue and two recently renovated Starbucks stores. So... I delved into the world of HDR (high dynamic range) photography. If you haven’t seen this stuff before, just google it and you’ll see what I’m talking about. In other news, Flashtastic participated in it’s first Bridal Show (The Pink Bride) and had some modest success booking a few weddings. That’s it for now! Hope all of you are off to a good start in this new year. ---David

I knew this was going to be a beautiful wedding when I went out to Hachland Hill Vineyard for Micah and Bieke’s engagement shoot. But seeing Bieke wade barefoot with her Dad through the creek during the processional, was the moment I knew that shooting a wedding like this was a gift! So good to be there with my good friends, capturing the wonder of this day.

Lauren told her fiance David (who told me) she wanted a photo shoot that was way outside the box. Pedaling down the street and brainstorming about the upcoming shoot, the opening sequence of the amazing movie Amelie popped into my head... this was it! Later that day, Lauren emailed, informing me that she wanted an Amelie inspired photo shoot. Call it forward-remembering or telepathic communication, but whatever it was, it was weird and awesome, just like this shoot.
